Shannon Field is a Senior Clinician at Behavior Change Institute. Shannon began work in the field of applied behavior analysis in 2007 as a direct-service provider at an inclusive preschool for children with autism in the Dallas/ Fort Worth, TX, area. It was during this initial exposure to ABA that Shannon developed a passion for inclusion of children with disabilities, as well as an interest in the incorporation of developmentally-appropriate best practices into ABA programming. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2008, and her Master of Education in Special Education from the University of North Texas in 2011. Shannon is also a certified special educator, and worked as a public school teacher of students with autism and related disabilities for five years. As a teacher, Shannon developed skills to help parents successfully navigate with their children through the IEP process, and learned how to best advocate for her students’ needs, particularly in relation to inclusion with their same-age peers. Since leaving the public school system in 2014, Shannon has worked as a clinician in both clinic and home-based settings, overseeing ABA services delivered by behavior technicians. Shannon joined Behavior Change Institute as a Senior Clinician in January 2020, and is responsible for providing telehealth services to clients and their families. Her primary responsibilities include initial and ongoing assessment, clinical supervision and case management, caregiver education and training, and supervision and training of RBTs.
